With Doodles 2 coming to Flow and Gaia, it is the perfect time to release a fundamental feature that has not only been highly requested; it is a feature that will improve the user experience for Collectors. After all, we are a Marketplace, created by Collectors, for Collectors.
We know it is crucial to be able to buy with FLOW tokens since we are on the Flow Blockchain, and also know how important it is to be able to add a credit card and buy items in USD. It is important to us at Gaia to offer this flexibility so we can cater to multiple Collectors: those who prefer using cryptocurrency for a variety of reasons; and those who prefer the convenience of buying digital collectibles with a credit card.
Starting tomorrow, you will be able to purchase items in both FLOW tokens, and USD!
Feature Walkthrough
The first thing you will notice when you go to a collection page, is items will be in both currencies; some listed in FLOW, and some listed in USD. The item that is listed in that currency will need to be purchased in that currency. So, an item listed in FLOW needs to be bought with FLOW. Same for USD-listed items.
If you need a refresher on how to top up your FLOW, or have ETH to convert, we have two articles that teach you how to do this:
How To: Transfer ETH To Your Dapper Balance

Convert To & Send $FLOW To Dapper Wallet

You will notice on the top right corner there will be a flashing blue dot to highlight the multicurrency feature and a new button indicating what currency you’re viewing.
By default, all items are listed from lowest price to highest price. There are other sorting options as well, such as Price: High to Low, Newest Listings, and Oldest Listings.
Once you click the new Currencies button with the flashing blue dot, you’ll see a new dropdown menu appear, with different selections: both FLOW and USD, USD only, and FLOW only items.
You will see items based on the filter you choose. And, under the “Listed” section of an item, you will see how many of that particular item are listed at the particular price point. For example, there are 2 items listed for $300 USD.

When you click on a particular item, you will see information to the right of the image of the item. On the top right corner of the Listings section, you will once again see the dropdown menu of the FLOW and USD currencies. You can sort the active listings for that item based on the currency you want to sort by. For the following screenshot, the item is only listed in USD.
Here is an example of an item listed in FLOW.

And here is an example of the same item also being listed for $55 USD, with both currencies being selected in the filter.
The Sales History section of an item will be listed in both currencies. This way, you can see if an item is selling better in a particular currency or not.

And that’s it! We are extremely excited to release this feature, as it’s going to cater to a variety of different Collectors who have preferences on how they want to buy an item on Gaia. More features are coming your way, and we will have a change log to document everything!
